If it weren’t for late fashion designer Ruth Tarvydas, Rebecca Judd (née Twigley) may never have become famous.
Paying tribute to the woman who dressed her in a racy, red dress at the 2004 Brownlow Medal, Bec flew into Perth to walk in Ruth Tarvydas Celebration Show during Telstra Perth Fashion Festival.
The parade, which celebrated the fashion designer who passed in May this year, hosted a flurry of her most beautiful designs – including Rebecca’s controversial slinky red dress.
Tarvydas was sadly found dead outside her Perth apartment.
Rebbeca life changed immensely since she first wore Ruth’s plunging gown that caught the imagination of women and men alike a decade ago.
Now married to the man that accompanied her on the red carpet, AFL player Chris Judd, and with two children, Oscar Dillan and Billie Kate, it must have been a nostalgic moment for the model when she arrived at the fashion tribute.
Standing next to the catwalk that would soon be brought to life, she wore black gladiator sandals with a tangerine skirt paired with a black t-shirt.
She paired the ensemble with a leather jacket, a glossy red lip and her Louis Vuitton monogrammed handbag.
All in all, the model and mum looked as glam as ever.
Hours later, the brunette took to the runway in an attention-grabbing black sequined cheap cocktail dresses australia and sheer fascinator.
With a centre-split up the hemline and an architectural sweetheart neckline, Rebecca Judd beamed as she paid tribute to the fashion designer and more importantly, her friend.
Adding even more vamp to the little black dress, Rebecca sported a red lip, smokey brown eyes and glossy red nails that paired perfectly with the ensemble.
Posting a selfie on her Instagram, Rebecca captioned her photot ‘Thanks @hendrawmakeup for my HUGE red lips- I loved my makeup. Ruth Tarvyday tribute show for #tpff2014’
The models large brown eyes were heavily made up with brown eye shadow and eccentuated with long feathery false eyelashes.
Red pencil lined lips made Rebecca’s smooches look even bigger and her hair was pulled off her face showing off her long model-esque neck.
At the time of Ruth’s sudden death, Rebecca was one of the first to take to social media to publicly thank the designer for all she has done in the models life.
‘You changed my life with your red dress Ruth. RIP beautiful lady x’, she wrote posting an image of herself in the profile raising short black cocktail dresses with its plunging neckline that cut to the navel.
Just yesterday Rebecca raised awareness of Ruth’s fashion tribute as well as Telstra Perth Fashion Festival when speaking to local Nine News Perth reporters.
Posting a photo of herself chatting with media, the gorgeous mum captioned her photo ‘Perthies- tune into @9news Perth now as I chat exclusively to Jerrie Demasi ahead of #tpff2014’
The fashion fanatic wore a summery Alex Perry lace dress that her 7-month-old daughter Billie Kate picked out yesterday that was shown on the models Instagram.
The lucky mum-of-two had a choice of three dresses from the Australian designer.
Aside from Bec’s touching appearance on the Ruth Tarvydas tribute runway on Friday, countless other designs all with Ruth Tarvydas’ risque signature style, strutted down the catwalk as well.
The Lithuania-born, senior designer launched her career in the 1960 s to create a red carpet, known as the thriller become her design, is a notorious shake and celebr.
Unfortunately in 2012 the designer who enjoyed a 40-year fashion career was forced to sell her house and close her King Street boutique, while still retaining one store.
According to Perth now, Ruth was able to keep one of her stores open in Claremont, in Perth’s western suburbs, because her landlord John Bond offered her a special lease.
